Previously I-M253, formed some 4-5000 years ago
Now I-S6402, an already named branch formed about 980 BC (see DNASurnames for overview Haplogroup tree).

See also YFull's current (v6.01 of their tree) view of this branch of mankind:
https://yfull.com/tree/I-S6402/
to which this file will eventually be submitted.

To advance further towards present day however will need at least one other matching candidate.
Surely there are some McADIEs or McHARTYs out there interested in exploring further?

What's the BigY fuss all about?

Have a read of this excellent post from the DNAeXplained blog

Checking around our data it was rather belatedly noticed that our WorldFamilies Summary results page wasn't actually showing any markers at all.
Remedied at least in part for one of the two known tested McADIEs meant to be showing there, and the FTDNA result grid has now been embedded there for up to the minute results.
The summary Patriarchs page has had a few minor tweaks in the pedigrees.
Interested to see that the 12/12 marker matches have a fair smattering of Scandinavian surnames (our McADIE interest is from Caithness, north of Scotland), and that there isn't a very good match (9/12) with the only other McADIE dna results available to us (although this latter is at least in the same haplogroup).McAdie Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09720380306406267058noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4680037446435000420.post-15166397740292394162009-06-04T10:35:00.003+12:002009-06-04T12:12:42.017+12:004th: 1st kit has hit the labNow we wait.

The Patriarch for this line, George, has had his web page tweaked slightly, and an updated lineage chart loaded to show where our first official participant "fits".

Anyone with McAdie/MacAdie family trees able to be linked too is welcome to send the details for inclusion on the web pages lists, and any researchers wanting to be added to the researcher list likewise.McAdie Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09720380306406267058noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4680037446435000420.post-30841345898902153362009-05-14T03:24:00.001+12:002009-05-14T03:25:47.623+12:0013th: DunbeathAdded a link to the Dunbeath Heritage Centre in the WebPages section.
(and yes, I know that the link to Ralph isn't working).McAdie Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09720380306406267058noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4680037446435000420.post-73970808479787317702009-05-10T13:35:00.003+12:002009-05-10T13:47:59.135+12:0010th: General web updatesCheck out the revised McADIE Overview Page, and the Lineages Page.
Both have been updated to include some links, related web pages, and stubs for where more information will gradually be added over time, eg Wanted! lines.

I only had a very quick web search for some published M(a)cADIE trees, so if you know of any others already documented online somewhere, send an email to the Compiler address in the footer of the Lineages Pages.McAdie Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09720380306406267058noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4680037446435000420.post-59084982555618630232009-05-08T03:27:00.003+12:002009-05-08T11:26:01.175+12:007th: Check it outWell we seem to be up and running, with all pages at least now accessible. Should you find any missing links, please let me know.

Check out the "Front Door" for the McADIE Surname DNA Project. There's not much behind it as yet, but given time and interest from other McADIE researchers and hopefully a participant or two, it will grow.

If you wish to be listed as a M(a)cADIE, or other variant, researcher, again, send an email (contact details on the footer of the web pages under Compiler) and you can be added to the Researcher index. Email addresses are encrypted.

Pedigrees, biased towards male lines for dna participants, are also welcome. Outline pedigrees will be posted on the Project Summary Patriarchs pages held on the World Families Network site, (rather bereft as yet, haven't had too much time to tweak the standard pages).
Those with participants and linkages to others also included in the McADIE DNA Projects Portal pages behind the Front Door above.McAdie Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09720380306406267058noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4680037446435000420.post-20556570208718539152009-05-06T03:55:00.002+12:002009-05-06T05:21:17.959+12:006th: WelcomeWelcome to the Project Diary for the newly created McADIE Surname DNA Project.

Summary information (dna result grid, and outline pedigrees) will be available on the WorldFamilies Network pages.

Supplementary information, including links to assorted McADIE (and variants) surname related pages will be available on the DNA Projects Portal.

All McADIE (and variant) surnamed males are most welcome to join in the fun of seeing where dna can take our genealogy.McAdie Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09720380306406267058noreply@blogger.com0
